Patient had visited our clinic with a dull aching pain on right lower side of the jaw . On initial checkup we found deep fillings with respect to right lower premolars . So advised patient to do full mouth x-ray (OPG) on evaluation we found a large periapical granuloma with respect to both the premolars and distal root of the canine . So after explaining the condition to the said patient .
We advised for the blood test followed by extraction of the teeth along with periapical granuloma . After thorough curettage we grafted the area with a bone graft and membrane . Asked the patient to wait for 4 months .
Following which we took a CBCT to determine the width and length of the bone .
We planned osstem dental implants with respect to canine and 2nd premolar placed a healing cap and Waited for a period of 3 months for abutment to be placed later on we took a digital impression (scan) to replace the missing teeth with a zirconia bridge now the patient is very happy to smile , eat and go about with the day to day activities.
Take away – so it is very important to have a regular dental checkup along with a full mouth x-ray to find out any hidden surprises due to use of dentition
